Standard Bank - Ecosystems Platform

Analysing, designing and implementing an open market platform aimed at connecting farmers of fresh produce (big and small) and buyers (off takers). Secondly, incorporate the ability for farmers to donate fresh produce to NPOs for the distribution of fresh produce to communities in need. 

As the lead service designer on this project, I was tasked with in depth research of all users, stakeholders, systems, and how a platform could be designed and implemented to aid in the day-to-day activities and processes of the farmers (sellers / donators) and the buyers. 

Value added: 

• Giving emerging farmers access to a national fresh produce marketplace, making it easy for them to get their produce sold, and enabling them as price makers, not price takers. 

• Cutting national food wastage by up to 80% as farmers now can donate surplus or below A-grade produce to NPOs. 

• Supplying communities in need with much needed food relief efforts. 

• A user-friendly, efficient, and transparent marketplace connecting all role players and stakeholders on a national level.
